Terms of Service

CaseVine is a product of Big Blue Doors, LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the CaseVine API at casevine.ai ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.

1. The Service

CaseVine provides programmatic access to normalized federal court records sourced from the Public Access to Court Electronic Records system (PACER) and other public sources. The Service is intended for business use in compliance screening, Know Your Business (KYB) workflows, underwriting, and related lawful purposes.

2. Account and API Keys

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your API key. You may not share, resell, or sublicense your API key without written permission from Big Blue Doors, LLC. You are responsible for all usage and charges incurred under your key.

3. Acceptable Use

You may not use the Service to:

  • Harass, stalk, or harm any individual
  • Build a competing data resale product without a commercial license
  • Circumvent rate limits or access controls
  • Violate any applicable law or regulation

4. Data Accuracy & Entity Disambiguation

Court records are sourced from public government systems and are provided as-is. CaseVine normalizes and structures this data but does not guarantee its accuracy, completeness, or timeliness. You are responsible for verifying information before making decisions based on it. CaseVine is not affiliated with the federal judiciary, PACER, or any government agency.

CaseVine uses third-party entity resolution services to match company names to registered legal entities. Results are provided on a best-effort basis. CaseVine does not guarantee that search results correspond to any specific legal entity. Users bear sole responsibility for confirming the correct entity before relying on any results. CaseVine expressly disclaims all liability for results returned against an incorrect or unintended entity.

5. Third-Party Data Sources

Court data is sourced from PACER and third-party providers. CaseVine makes no warranty as to the completeness, accuracy, or timeliness of this data. Data is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice.

6. No Legal Advice

Nothing in CaseVine's API responses or platform constitutes legal advice. Users should consult qualified legal counsel before making decisions based on litigation data.

7. User Responsibility

Users are responsible for ensuring their use of CaseVine data complies with applicable laws. CaseVine is not liable for decisions made based on data returned by the service.

8. Payment

Paid tiers are billed monthly via Stripe. All fees are non-refundable except as required by law. We reserve the right to suspend access for non-payment.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Big Blue Doors, LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, whether incurred directly or indirectly. To the maximum extent permitted by law, CaseVine's total liability for any claim arising from use of the Service shall not exceed the amounts paid by the user in the three months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to conflict of law principles.
